AGL is looking for up to four graduates to join the Wholesale Energy Trading team to commence work in February 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within AGL’s high-performing Trading team, consisting of:
Physical Markets Trading: At its core, the Physical Markets Trading Team is the risk management interface for AGL and the electricity and gas spot markets administered by the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO). This includes the dispatch of renewable assets.
Energy Trading: Trading in the domestic and global commodity and financial markets, the Energy Trading team maintains a clear focus on AGL’s strategic objectives and risk management, to optimise value from trading the largest portfolio of energy assets in Australia.
Origination: Responsible for the origination, negotiation, execution and life-cycle management of structured contractual agreements within Trading & Origination. The Power Origination team transitions AGL’s long-term electricity portfolio from its current dependence on thermal generation to renewable generation and flexible capacity in the future.
Virtual Power Plant Operations: Responsible for building and operating AGL’s virtual power plant, a task that involves engineering, data science, operations and the management of AGL’s VPP technology platform 'NEO'. The VPP Ops team works in concert with the other Trading teams to realise value from these assets.
