Consulting was a career path that interested me as a graduate so that I could get industry experience in a variety of projects and fields.

Associate Consultant

How have your studies helped you in your current role at Capgemini?

Having studied information systems and innovation at university. I have been able to adapt to the Insights and Data capability to learn the tool for data visualisations and analytics.

What are you passionate about in your role?

Learn new skills that will help me develop personally and from a career perspective. I want to learn exciting technologies and their applications in the real world.

What does a typical day look like for you, and what are you currently working on?

Currently, I am on the bench, so my days consist of self-direct learning; I am currently working on getting certifications in QlikSense and Automation Anywhere. While also training on languages SQL and Python, even tools such as Jira.

Tell us about your work-life harmony at Capgemini?

Capgemini has been very flexible with as far as a work/life place goes.

How would you describe the culture at Capgemini?

Open, very down-to-earth, all of the staff, including the senior leadership, seem approachable, which has created a very welcoming environment.

What has been the most empowering moment in your Capgemini career journey?

Being asked for my opinion on how to approach a task, and then my advice is used in the organisation to help the company improve and grow.

What have you gained from working at Capgemini from a career perspective?

Capgemini has given me the support required to develop my skillset and effectively start my career. The entire graduate program has been to help me grow and develop, which has been very helpful to my future career.

If you could give 3 pieces of advice to students about applying for a job, what would they be?

Apply to a lot of positions, don’t be discouraged by the process, learn how to sell yourself in the right lingo.
