Myoori

Whether you have years of experience or are straight out of university, DFAT is a great place to start or continue your career.

With dual degrees in Laws and Commerce, Myoori is part of DFAT’s 2021 graduate cohort.

“Graduating from Monash University in 2020, I knew two things—corporate law wasn’t for me and I had an interest in learning more about the world of international relations and global trade.

“DFAT is an incredibly rewarding place and I’ve had a range of experiences so far, working across our consular response to international border closures, advising on Australia’s trade and investment obligations under international agreements and responding to the current Ukraine crisis.”

In addition to the day-to-day, Myoori says she has gained a lot of purpose through her role with DFAT’s Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) committee.

“Working with the CALD committee, I organise events that promote diversity within DFAT and help staff at all levels learn how to make the workplace a safe and inclusive space for everyone.

“Whether you have years of experience or are straight out of university, DFAT is a great place to start or continue your career,” Myoori says.
