The Opportunity

Applications are now open for the 2023 Department of Parliamentary Services Graduate Program. 

This is an exciting opportunity to launch your career in the Parliamentary Service and contribute to the provision of effective, high quality and sustainable services to parliamentarians, building occupants and visitors to Parliament House. 

Our graduates gain a unique hands-on experience of the diverse work and services delivered by the department including:

  • Security and emergency management
  • Building services, capital works projects and property maintenance
  • Finance, procurement and planning
  • Library and research services
  • Information technology
  • Art collections, curation and design integrity
  • Hansard and broadcasting
  • Communications and media
  • Catering and events, retail and visitor services
  • Corporate and strategic services.

The program will run over a 12-month period and focus on building graduate skills, capabilities and knowledge within the department. Our graduates commence at the Parliamentary Service Level 3 (PSL3) classification and upon successful completion of the program, advance to the base of the Parliamentary Service Level 4 (PSL4).

Who we are looking for

We welcome applications from graduates who have completed or will complete by January 2023, an undergraduate degree or higher in any discipline.

We have a range of positions available to suit all types of qualifications. One of our graduate positions requires finance, accounting, commerce or related qualification to complete specialised work.
