Your role

What does a standard week look like?

Your day-to-day will involve, however, not be limited to:

  • Assisting lawyers and senior paralegals with routine and ad hoc legal and administrative tasks in litigation and advisory matters, including but not limited to reviewing, drafting and filing of documents including court documents, chronologies, statements, agreements, and correspondence.
  • Preparing matters for conferences and hearings, attending and taking notes at meetings and court hearings and providing a summary of the case to practitioners when requested.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis of noncomplex and complex matters across different practice areas, ensuring research is delivered on time, personalised to the matter and relevant to the case.
  • File management, including diarising and monitoring client deadlines, court, and other important dates.
  • Assisting with the preparation of weekly, monthly, and other reports.
  • Assisting in managing communications with clients.
  • Assisting with court filing, and outside work if needed.

About you

Who are you?

  • Entry-level paralegal position suitable for law student who is in their second year or above with an eagerness to learn.
  • Excellent research skills, with the ability to learn to interpret and apply legal principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail, strong organisational and time management skills to manage and prioritise multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Proficient in using research tools and other technology.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and communication (verbal, written and oral) skills, including the ability to draft clear and concise documents.
  • Inclusive team player who enjoys collaborating with others.
  • This role requires a current and valid police clearance.
