What is a Legal Operations Graduate?

We are a firm that prides itself on challenging the status quo and have been recognised in the industry and by our clients, through awards such as the Law Firm of the Year (101-500 Lawyers) award and joint winner of the Diversity Initiative of the Year award at the Australasian Law Awards 2022.  We were also granted the Employer of Choice Gender Equality citation from the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) for 2021-2023.

We are calling all Graduates who think differently and are looking to shape the future of law.  An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Client Solutions team to utilise your knowledge from your law degree to lead change and disruption.

We are looking for a Smarter Law champion with a passion for document automation to join our Client Solutions team in either Sydney or Melbourne as a Legal Operations Graduate on a 12 month program joining our 2023 Graduate cohort.  Joining our Client Solutions team you will be exposed predominantly to document automation with a focus on project management, process analysis specifications and change management.  You will work under the guidance of the Client Solutions and Knowledge teams where you will drive innovation and effective outcomes with document automation for the firm.

As a legal operations graduate you will:

  • work with a variety of practice groups to deliver document automation solutions that will transform our work practices;
  • develop and maintain automated precedents and ensure they are aligned with firm style.
  • liaise with relevant clients to support business process improvement, and client service standards and promote the use of technology solutions.
  • engage with industry influencers;
  • undertake analysis of legal processes and identify opportunities for improvement in the document automation space;
  • become a trusted business partner that translates document automation requirements to outcomes; and
  • build your nationwide network and personal brand at the firm.

Over the 12 months you will build a skillset with the below concepts:

  • innovating with heart (user-centric focus);
  • precedent drafting;
  • document coding and automation;
  • maintaining data dictionary, testing, training, and implementing solutions;
  • project management;
  • spec and requirement documents; and
  • continuous improvement principles.

Why become a Legal Operations Graduate?

Are you always looking outside of the box, do you openly embrace new ideas and are you looking to blend your understanding of the legal industry with legal tech?  If you want to be part of something different and work with a dynamic team with a proven industry presence, apply for the Hall & Wilcox Legal Operations Graduate.

What can we offer you?

  • you will have an extensive support network including a buddy, mentor and supervisor to provide guidance and support throughout the year;
  • regular learning opportunities through our Elevate program, designed to develop our graduates and provide them with the skills and expertise to excel;
  • ongoing feedback, both formal and informal; and
  • the opportunity to immerse yourself in our great culture and have fun!

Culture and working environment

We are well known in the market for having a great culture - which is warm and welcoming, innovative, inclusive and supportive.  We aim to strike a healthy balance between working hard and maintaining a high level of professionalism with having fun.
