In addition to working on projects that incorporate research, analysis and recommendations, Summer Interns are challenged to think creatively, offer their input, and add value to the team from day one. The internship period will be from December 2024 to February 2025.

Sales & Trading

Jefferies’ Equities department is a significant provider of liquidity, execution and underwriting expertise with over 700 Institutional Sales & Trading and Research professionals who focus on providing best-in-class trade execution, ideas and service to clients.

About you

They look for candidates who are eager to make an impact by doing real, hands-on work and participating on active deal teams. Successful Jefferies Summer Interns are able to multitask and manage a variety of projects simultaneously. Candidates must demonstrate professionalism and client management skills together with strong technical, written and verbal communication skills. The work is fast-paced, challenging and intellectually stimulating. The ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines, be adaptable and work both independently and as part of a team are essential traits of a successful candidate.

Candidates who apply should typically have outstanding academic achievement in finance, economics, accounting and/or Law and be in their penultimate year of study. They also hire Summer Interns who have studied a variety of degree disciplines such as science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Training, development & rotations

Following a Welcome Day orientation, Summer Interns will begin working on their day-to-day responsibilities, with support from colleagues serving as both instructors and mentors throughout the 12-week engagement. Jefferies’ collegial program also offers social opportunities to further enhance your professional development and grow your network.

Summer Interns engaged on the Equities platform will participate in one-week desk rotations throughout the summer. They will gain valuable experience across a variety of roles including Sales Trading, Trading, Research Sales, Derivatives, Prime Brokerage, Electronic Trading and Desk Strategy.
