About this course

The Master of Arts (Research Training) is a graduate research degree which can be undertaken following completion of a regular three-year undergraduate degree. It is also an appropriate entry point into graduate research for prospective candidates with extensive industry experience or non-traditional research outputs who may not meet the traditional PhD admission requirements. This course will provide students with the opportunity for more specialised, in-depth research training in a discipline or on an interdisciplinary topic. It will also provide opportunities to translate your research for a particular professional context.

You will complete a combination of coursework and research in your chosen humanities and social sciences discipline. This course will allow you to undertake substantial independent research on your chosen topic while supported by a minimum of two expert academic supervisors. Our Faculty of over 500 academics is committed to train internationally recognised scholars that are passionate about producing cutting edge research and keen to contribute to their fullest capacity to the betterment of society at large. A key strength of our research programs lies in their diversity. This is reflected in our academics who are some of the world's most inspiring and distinguished researchers.
