About this course

Modern slavery may exist in every organisation's operations and supply chains. Governments, organisations and consumers can all play a role in combating it.

Australia's Modern Slavery Act 2018 (MSA) requires all organisations operating in Australia with a minimum consolidated revenue of A$100 million to submit a modern slavery statement. The purpose of the statement is to disclose how organisations have assessed and addressed modern slavery risks in their operations and supply chains. However, even among the largest Australian companies, the reporting quality of these statements is disappointing.

The Modern Slavery Disclosure (MSD) scoring framework is designed by the Monash Centre for Financial Studies (MCFS) as a benchmark for the disclosure quality of these statements. The MSD framework provides a solid foundation for reporting entities to address the mandatory reporting criteria of the Act and adopt industry best practices.
