About this course

If you are motivated to learn and want to study at university, but don't meet the standard admission requirements, the Monash Access Program (MAP) may provide you with the skills and knowledge to gain access. MAP is an enabling course for mature age students who have not studied at university before. Applicants need to be aged 21 years or older and priority will be given to students who have experienced financial or other disadvantage. MAP prepares you for successful academic study at university level. It will give you a solid foundation to progress into a range of Monash courses.

MAP gives you:

  • the opportunity to experience study at Monash, even if you thought it was out of your reach
  • support to develop the necessary skills needed to successfully participate in university-level studies
  • the option to progress to a range of internationally-recognised Monash courses, opening the door to career opportunities in Australia and around the world
  • an assisted pathway (no tuition fees) for eligible students.

Your classes will be held from April through November. You will study at Monash University's Clayton campus, with full access to all facilities including the library resources and student services. MAP comprises four units of study that will help you to develop skills in university learning, academic writing and mathematics.

Please note: this course is offered on a subsidised basis for eligible students. There are no tuition fees for the course, however, you will need to pay for other items including books, stationery and travel.

Upon successful completion of this course, you may be eligible for direct admission into one of the following destination degree courses provided that you meet the guaranteed entry score for that course and any additional entry requirements including prerequisites:
