There's almost too much training! We have a program called Cornerstone for grads which runs for 1-1.5 hours most weeks. Separately we also have practice group specific trainings - usually 1-2 hours a week, and then informal training and feedback with team members. Allens also has lots of webinars and client presentations which juniors are very welcome to attend.

There's regular training that all graduates across Australia attend where we learn about different sectors and teams. I've also been able to pick up skills on the job, usually by working iteratively on a task and implementing feedback until getting to a strong final product.

There are both formal and informal training sessions, at a national, state and team level. I have found the sessions to be bespoke and helping in developing my skills as a junior lawyer.

The training is like nothing else. The firm gets partners and the most senior lawyers to provide the training and it's a case of being taught by the very best in the industry. Fantastic training and mentorships, as long as you are willing to learn and engage. Allens offers formal training across core teams and legal areas for all graduates, as well as internal training being hosted specifically for the team you are rotating through.

On the job and formal training during my graduate year was great, would have given it a 9 or 10. However, it has tailored off to more of 5 or 6 since then (which was how I've landed on 7).

The training is the number 1 reason that I chose this firm over others and it has not disappointed. You genuinely get the sense that you are learning from the best in the market.

Graduate training - formal program

Weekly trainings on a variety of topics across the firm offered to first and second year lawyers. Regular open invites to firmwide trainings on hot topics. Within team, plenty of rope given to take the lead, manage matters and make mistakes. Good learning opportunities there.

We have access to the best training.

We have weekly formal training sessions that span the gamut of the firm's practice, but I've learnt the most on the job. I think I mentioned above that the more senior lawyers are always willing to chat through work I've done and tell me what was good and what I can improve on. This includes drafting style, presentation style, attention to detail, creative thinking etc.

Cornerstone program for juniors which goes through all practice areas at a high level. More detailed formal training for each practice area you rotate through. Lots of good mentors.

There is a thorough program of training for all graduates, as well as team-by-team training. Between the two programs, graduates get a strong sense of general professional skills, general legal skills and subject-specific skills.

Cornerstone training sessions and Junior practice area specific training sessions by leading lawyers at the firm. Effective and helpful.

The training is extensive, constant and of a very high standard. They take training and mentoring juniors very seriously.

Graduates undertake two weeks of training when they start. We have weekly graduate training for the first year of our employment. In addition, I get weekly training sessions that are specific to my practice group. These training sessions focus on different areas of the law dealt with by the firm, and are taught by senior practitioners in each field. Allens also arranges for graduates to participate in an accelerated Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice course, which is paid for by the firm.

Allens put us through the ANU GDLP program which is great, we also have weekly 'cornerstone' training sessions to expand our skill set.

Cornerstone - weekly training with a Senior Associate usually on different topics. Depending on which area of law you are in there are also fortnightly training sessions to introduce you to that industry and the work.
