Pros & Cons

  • Diverse range of teams all operating in house. Lots of opportunities to collaborate and network even just internally. See everything happening on the same floor.
  • Flexibility; exposure to senior leaders across the organisation; interesting and complex work tasks; supportive managers and team.
  • The number of interesting rotations is a plus. There is a very strong support system in place for the graduates. You are always encouraged to try different things. There is always someone available to ask questions or to get help from.
  • There is a great culture and flexible working arrangements. The company cares about your wellbeing and the grad program, in particular, provides lots of support to help you succeed.
  • Extremely flexible working from home arrangements. There is also an enormous focus on personal/professional development.
  • A very supportive team and leader, friendly coworkers, flexible working arrangements.
  • Poor media attention.
  • There are constant changes and uncertainty.
  • Lots of upper management changes and organisational restructure which sometimes makes it difficult to focus on everyday responsibilities and tasks.
  • Performance and negative press coverage - tends to overshadow a lot of the good stuff we are actually doing.
  • Current cultural and management issues, including media relationship and depiction.
  • A lot of leadership change at the moment A lot of cost-cutting which puts pressure on employees although this is not felt by the graduates.

As a part of the grad program there is a focus on actually being able to provide value in that role and performing activities and tasks that will develop and enhance your skillset and experience. As such, in each role there is a period of being brought up to speed followed by a lengthy period of time where you can add value to that team and be a valuable asset.

Interview process was clear and concise with everything explained and running smoothly (even though it was virtual). Assessment centre was more individual based and less teamwork based because of the virtual nature.

The AMP grad program has some seriously strong training and development programs built in. We have externally run induction workshops that are fun and insightful, Lunch&learn sessions every week about various aspect of the business, weekly physical activities for the cohort, and more! Lost track of how much development opportunity there is with the grad program and can't imaging attending every single one! Variety, quality and quantity.
