BlackRock Australia Graduate Programs & Internships

  • Banking & Financial Services

At BlackRock, we are all connected by one mission: to help more and more people experience financial well-being. Our clients, and the people they serve, are saving for retirement, paying for their children’s educations, buying homes and starting businesses. Their investments also help to strengthen the global economy: support businesses small and large; finance infrastructure projects that connect and power cities, and facilitate innovations that drive progress.

This mission would not be possible without our smartest investment – the one we make in our employees. It’s why we’re dedicated to creating an environment where our colleagues feel welcomed, valued and supported with networks, benefits and development opportunities to help them thrive.

Recruitment Process

  • Apply for our APAC Analyst Program via our website.
  • Once you've submitted your online application, you will be asked to complete a virtual cover letter. Think of this as an opportunity to give us your elevator pitch – it is not an interview but will be considered along with your resume. This must be completed within 5 calendar days of submitting the written part of your application.

Remuneration & Career Growth

The full-time Analyst Program is a multi-year experiential journey designed to empower and support Analysts in connecting their personal passions and strengths to BlackRock’s mission, principles and purpose. The program begins with an orientation to learn about our purpose, business and strategic priorities – all while gaining insights into the day-to-day life of an Analyst at BlackRock.

Following orientation, Analysts join their business area and stay connected with colleagues across the globe through ongoing training and professional development. Our Sydney program consists of 4 x 6 months rotation to gain a comprehensive overview of the following Australian business areas:

Sales & Relationship Management: Develop and deliver investment products and solutions for clients worldwide. Create marketing strategies around these solutions and use them to build new client relationships.

BlackRock Solutions: Use a depth understanding of Aladdin to help clients analyze their enterprise risk, build better portfolios, and amplify the value they deliver.

Investments: Conduct market research and analyze specific investment opportunities which meet client needs.

Throughout the program, Analysts will have an opportunity to do meaningful work with diverse colleagues across the globe, all with the support of a company that’s committed to their well-being and invested in their success.

We hire curious, lifelong learners and support their growth through virtual and in-person training, certificate programs, company-wide hackathons, and analyst training programs.

To help you stay energized, engaged and inspired, we offer a wide range of benefits including a strong retirement plan, tuition reimbursement, comprehensive healthcare, support for working parents and Flexible Time Off (FTO) so you can relax, recharge and be there for the people you care about.

What Graduates Say About Them
  • People are really amazing and nice. Super supportive company with great management/exec team.
  • The "one BlackRock" principle plays a large role in the culture. I have found people in the company are very willing to share information and help with projects, even across business units and regions. This has been invaluable as an analyst at the start of my career, I'm able to reach out and learn a lot from more experienced colleagues.
  • The rotational graduate program is a great way to see 4 very different parts of the business. The flat structure also means you get real responsibilities and exposure from the get-go. It's a steep learning curve but everyone is willing to help and its a great culture!
  • The division I am in is very separate to the rest of the business so I don't interact with a lot of other people.
  • Given we are a global firm headquartered in the US, someone working in another region can sometimes feel detached from HQ
  • The learning curve is steep but if you throw yourself into the situation and ask people for help, I've found people are always willing to help out.

The coolest thing about my job is the variety of work I do! Outside of building and evaluating portfolios, we also meet with clients, provide thought leadership through either publishing papers or hosting teaching sessions and even evaluate asset management competitions.
