What is Loss Adjusting?

Loss Adjusters investigate and evaluate insurance claims on behalf of an insurer to determine circumstances, damage and/or loss and how much should be paid to the insured.

Day-to-day involves a combination of office and field work, including visiting sites where loss or damage has occurred, and meeting and interacting with people from all walks of life, whether they be the insured, insurer third party or service providers.

Loss adjusting is a varied and rewarding career, requiring you to use initiative, think and act quickly and apply specialist knowledge and skills to each claim. No two insurance claims are the same and Loss Adjusters require a mix of empathy, skill and judgement to determine the validity of an insurance claim and decide on appropriate steps to bring claims to settlement.

Graduate/Traineeship Program

As a Trainee Loss Adjuster, you will work closely with some of the industry’s most experienced and respected Loss Adjusters, learning through a combination of structured training and on-the-job experience over a 12-month period. You’ll work on major and complex claims, developing your skills and commencing your career pathway to becoming a fully-fledged Loss Adjuster. Your traineeship will also involve commencing the learning pathway to professional accreditation with the Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters.

Being part of our Traineeship program is a unique and exciting opportunity. Due to the focus on practical training, we only take in a small number of applicants each year, allowing increased support and exposure to our experienced Loss Adjusting team.

At the end of the traineeship year, providing all competencies are satisfied, trainees are offered a permanent loss-adjusting role within the business, continuing their journey on our career pathway.
