Our purpose is to create sustainable value with our clients, people and communities. That means we have a proud history of providing excellence to clients, nurturing our people and giving back to the communities in which we live and work.
We value excellence, curiosity and collaboration. Clients rely on us for our responsive, commercial approach. Our clients include government departments and agencies, private and publicly listed companies, and small and large businesses in Australia and overseas.
At MinterEllison, we champion and advocate for inclusion. We do this because our diversity is our greatest strength and is fundamental to our character and identity. Among our clients and markets, we are known for our diversity of skills, perspectives and expertise. We know that when we bring together diversity of thinking, skills, experience, genders, backgrounds, orientations and abilities, and create inclusive ways to listen, learn and devise truly unique solutions, we thrive and we deliver excellent results for our clients, people and communities. Together, we foster a sustainable work environment where we all feel confident to be ourselves and safe to engage in respectful conversations about our identities, perspectives and experiences.
Our inclusivity underpins our excellence. We thrive and deliver excellent results, because of it.
We're recognised as a WGEA Employer of Choice for Gender Equality and an Australian Workplace Equality Index Gold Employer, as well as gold members of the Australian Network on Disability. Our CEO is a member of the Champions of Change Coalition.
We focus on the following key diversity and inclusion demographics, each with its own program, to drive awareness and inclusion capability across the firm.
We make diversity in all its forms central to collaboration. This is why we offer hybrid working options to encourage balance, wellbeing and support for sustainable ways of working. We offer up to 26 weeks paid parental leave within the first 24 months following birth or adoption, and a range of social, financial and health benefits, including free gym membership – all with no minimum tenure.
We welcome applications from people of all ages, cultural backgrounds, genders (including if you identify as transgender or gender diverse), sexual orientations, as well as people living with a disability or who have family or carer responsibilities. We particularly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to apply for roles with MinterEllison.
Application dates differ for each state so please check our careers website for the details, to ensure that you don’t miss any deadlines
Step 1: Application
Our online application form will ask you to submit your resume, and most recent academic transcript. You will also be asked several key questions that are designed to help us understand you better as an individual.
Step 2: Games Based Assessment
You will be invited to complete a Games Based Assessment. Games based assessments measure competencies for cognitive abilities including mental agility, working with numbers, visual and spatial awareness as well as emotional intelligence. It takes approximately 10 minutes to complete the games based assessments.
Step 3: Video assessment
If your application is shortlisted at the first stage, you will be invited to complete a short recorded video assessment. A video assessment is just like a video call, in which you will be asked pre-recorded questions. This assessment provides us with the opportunity to get to know you a little better, and also allows you to tell us what you cannot put into words on your resume and application.
Step 4: Interview
If your application and assessments are successful, you will be invited to attend an in person interview at one of our offices. Your interview is the perfect opportunity for us to know more about you and what you are looking for in an employer. It is also an opportunity for us to tell you about the firm and answer any questions you might have.
Our interview structure differs slightly from office to office but normally you would be interviewed by at least two people – they could be a mix of Senior Lawyers/Managers, Partners or our Talent team.
At MinterEllison, we're driven by a strong sense of purpose. We create sustainable value with our clients, our people and our communities.

We are committed to building a culture where all of our people feel trusted, supported and able to create sustainable value for our clients, our people and our communities. Working in ways that are sustainable, including being flexible in how, when and where we work are important elements of our cultural aspirations.
