What are your thoughts on pay and bonuses at your company?
Discretionary bonuses appear more difficult to receive than at other companies. In one way this enhances pay equality, but does not necessarily reward performers who produce particularly high quality work or dedicate time to business development.

Very reasonable. We have a very competitive base pay (right near top of market) and a very reasonable annual billable target. If that target is exceeded (to a level, which at many other firms, would be the base billable target), we are entitled to bonuses of 10-20%. Further, there is also the opportunity to receive additional discretionary bonuses.

Pay is excellent and top of the market. Bonuses could use improvement. Bonuses are paid per set billable target increments of approximately 10%. I believe a 1 % bonus for 1% increment would be better and incentivise people to work harder without forcing themselves to rush the extra 10%.

The pay is very good. I have not worked for a full financial year yet to receive any bonus.

Pay is market. Bonuses don't really apply to graduates / rotating lawyers due to billable targets being high.

Impossible to get unless you work crazy hours.

Limited knowledge due to how junior I am. I know partners have a great deal of discretion when it comes to bonuses.

What are your company's best or most unusual perks? For example: free tickets, free dinners, moving expenses, taxis, pension, etc.
Free coffee in the morning.
Graduate, Melbourne
Free daily breakfast and barista coffees, with heavily discounted lunches. There are also regular social events, and generous taxi and dinner allowances when required.

Our company has discounts on most major retailers and service providers, including Uber, Coles, Big W, Woolworths. The discounts are small, however, I believe the company is seeking to improve them. Nevertheless, the variety of the discounts is appreciated, in addition to the fact that the retailers are universally and inevitably accessed by people. We also receive a free dinner and an Uber home if we ever work past a certain time (for safety and convenience). If we are leaving a work event, we also receive the free Uber home.

The best perks are free coffee from 8am to 10 am in the morning, and free breakfast (toast) each day. We also have a subsidised cafe. I do know a lot of other firms provide discounted gym memberships, which I wish our firm had!
Graduate, Sydney
Dinner and taxi expenses for working after standard business times. Free breakfast and coffee in the mornings.
